Use edge loops, early turns, and space partitioning to survive longer.
Build a Loop First
Before the snake grows too long, get comfortable with a loop around the edge. Later you can tighten or expand that route.
Turn Two Cells Early
High-score runs suffer when you react late. Decide turns two cells ahead to reduce wall hits and self-collisions.
Do Not Cut Off Escape Space
Check your exit before taking food. If food sits in a narrow corner, create space before entering.

Reduce sharp turns and keep a large loop. The steadier the route, the less reaction speed you need.
